FINDING
LAND LOCATIONS:
Ideally,
your billboard will
be located in an
area with the following
criteria in place,
there are legal
locations to build,
there is a high
amount of traffic,
rents to landowners
on billboards are
between 15% to 20%
of revenue (Depends
on how bad you want
the location).
Finding
a location for your
billboard is important.
More important,
however, is making
sure you either
own the property
itself or can obtain
permission to build
on someone else's.
It
is likely that you
may not know the
owner personally.
You can locate the
owner by going to
the town hall where
you are looking
to build. With the
address of the property
in hand, you can
identify the owner
through tax records,
which town or city
employees can help
you look through.
The owner may be
an individual or
company. In either
case, you should
obtain the name
and mailing address
and proceed from
there. The tax office
will not supply
you with the property
owner’s phone number.
They will only supply
you with name and
address of the property
owner.
